Sheikh Ahmed Hoosen Deedat: the icon of the Muslim world

Sheikh Ahmed Hoosen Deedat: the icon of the Muslim world

Sheikh Ahmed Hoosen Deedat was the most powerful Muslim scholar, writer, orator, preacher with more than five decades of experience in his time. Astoundingly, he had vast knowledge of Christianity, then Islam and for this, any Christian missionary thinks hundreds times before debating with him. He employed his God gifted knowledge properly to prove the superiority of Islam among all religion.
He was born on July 01, 1918 in Surat district (Tadkeshwar town) of Gujarat, India. His father, who was a tailor, had immigrated to South Africa shortly after the birth of Deedat. For this he had no remembrance of his father until 1926. In 1927, he went to Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa to meet with his parents as nine years old boy. Unfortunately, his mother died after a few months of his departure in the same year.
Ahmed was a very brilliant student and showed his outstanding performance in school by overcoming different types of obstacles as language barrier in foreign surrounding. But unhappily, after completing standard six, he had to quit school due to financial insolvency and took his first job in retailing at the age of 16.
The life of Deedat was changed in 1936, while he was a salesman at a Muslim owned furniture store near a Christian seminary on the Natal South Coast. The trainee Christian missionaries were trying to convert Muslim peoples by spreading malicious words against Islam and the Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. This ceaseless malevolence of missionaries instills a willful flare of aspiration within the boy to offset their phony propaganda.
As a result , sheikh Deedat   read a book named Izharul Haq- The Truth revealed, written by Rahmatullah Kairanawi which contains different techniques to prevent the false propaganda against Islam and Muslim and enormous success of the efforts of Muslims against Christian missionary harassment during the British subjugation and rule of India.
He was intensely influenced by the ideas of this book, specially the idea of holding debate and dialogue with non-Muslim priests and missionaries. It was proved as true when he purchasehd of his first Bible and studied it critically and took classes on Bible in Islamic study classes held by a local Muslim converted named Mr.Fairfax.
Furthermore, Deedat became a confidential preacher of Islam and primarily conducted Bible classes, lectures and debates in South Africa, after that around the world over for four decades. In 1942, he delivered his first lecture entitled “Muhammad: Messenger of Peace” at Durban and Jummah mosque at Durban became the center of the Dawah.
He founded the largest Islamic Dawah Organization in the world, the Islamic Propagation Center International (IPCI) with his two friends Goolam Hoosein Vanker and Tahir Rasul (1957) and the first Islamic Seminary in Southern Africa to train propagators at Assalaam educational Institute, Braemar in the south of Natal province (1958). For the first time, Deedat conducted his classes, Lectures, and debates on Biblical theology, comparative religion outside of South Africa by the early of 1980s.
He delivered thousands of lectures all over the world which are available all over the world in the various languages in Video and DVD format. His dialogue with the heads of the Protestant world in America and the late Pope John Paul is also available. He visited many countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Kingdom, and Pakistan, united state of America, Canada, and Australia. Sweden and Denmark
In 1986, he was awarded the prestigious King Faisal Award for his sterling services to Islam in the field of Propagation. Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa, congratulating Deedat for his international icon status in the Muslim World.
He has published more than 20 books and distributed millions of copies of free literature and pamphlets around the world. Arabs and Israel – Conflict or Conciliation? Crucifixion or Cruci-Fiction, Muhammad: The Natural Successor to Christ, Muhammad The Greatest, Al-Qur’an: the Ultimate Miracle. Many of his publications have been translated into the many different languages of the world such as Russian, Urdu, Arabic, Bengali, French, Amharic, Chinese, Japanese, Mayalam, Indonesian, Zulu, Afrikaans, Dutch, and Norwegian amongst others.

On May 03, 1996 Sheikh Ahmed Deedat suffered from a serious stroke and remained paralyzed and bedridden for 9 years in his home Verulam. Adnan Oktar: an examined believer and the preacher of Islam

Adnan oktar whose pen name is Harun Yahya was born on February 2, 1956 in Ankara, Turkey and stayed there until he completed his high school life. He acquired much   knowledge of religion by studying a large number of Islamic books in school life induced by his knowledge seeking behavior and determined to sermonize these true messages to the friends and people living around him.
After successfully completion high school education, in 1979, he got admission in department of interior design education at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Istanbul by obtaining third position among thousand of aspirants in admission test. After three years, he entered in the philosophy department at Istanbul University.
After entering at Mimar Sinan University, he saw that almost every one including teachers and students was severely influenced by the ideology of Marx and atheism and proliferating the materialistic philosophy especially Darwinism with the help of illegal Marxist organization. It became an institution where malicious action against religion and religious person was common.
However, Adnan decided to protest to spread the factual message of Islam and began his mission by telling the students, staffs and teachers about the invalidity of Darwinism and the authenticity of the existence and oneness of Allah.
During this time he passed most of his time through studying books and works on Marxism, communism, Leninism, Maoism, materialistic philosophy and secular ideologies, both archetypal and seldom -read text as his mother ‘Madina Oktar said.
Thus he became much knowledgeable about these theories, philosophies and ideologies based on atheism even better than their own experts and took the notes on hitches, dilemma, deadlocks, contradictions and phonies in these philosophies for further research on theory of evolution. On the basis of extensive research he published a booklet titled ‘The evolutionary theory’ which unveil the fallacy of Darwinism and distributed it to the university students. In this comprehensive work, he proved that Darwinism is a deception in the name of science by showing evidence directly from its original text. The thinking and belief of many students and instructors were deeply influenced by the dawah of Adnan.
In the meantime, some militant Marxists were threatening him to stop his activities but failed to keep away from his way. Furthermore, he encouraged by divine verses and became the only person who prayed openly in the Molla Mosque, adjacent to the university.
Oktar was alone for three years in his struggle. In 1982, some young fresher supported his ideologies and joined with him. A group of 20-30 people was formed between the 1982 and 1984.he began to arrange conversation with youth on ‘existence and oneness of Allah’ and the Islamic ideology. The number of his companion increased day by day.
For the first time, his name appeared in the ‘Nokta (the point) magazine in 1986 and became well known to the general public. After that many newspapers published his story about preaching Islam. He compiled all his valuable researches on Darwinism in his book Living Beings and Evolution in 1986.
In 1986, he was first arrested based on a fake complaint because of his words “I am from the nation of Abraham and Turkish ethnicity” and for the publication of Judaism and Freemasonry and transferred to Bakirkoy Mental Hospital and tortured there inhumanly. He was chained to bed by his ankles and no one could be able to meet with him and imprisoned there for 19 months. Then he was released by the court for his ingenuousness in 1988. As a result the number of his supporter increased tremendously. During 1990, a cocaine plot was taken by police and arrested him but failed to make him guilty. Oktar was sentenced by a Turkish court to three years in prison for “creating an illegal organization for personal gain in 2008.
He established the Science Research Foundation (SRF) in 1990 to run their activities and Foundation for Protection of National Values in 1995 for nexus with other traditional Islamist and nationalist organizations and individuals.
With other works, adnan oktar wrote more than hundred books, booklets and articles on political, scientific and religious issues .some famous books are: Judaism and Freemasonry, The Holocaust Lie, Allah is Known Through Reason, Allah’s Artistry in Color, The Creation Of The Universe, Islam Denounces Terrorism, Allah’s Miracles in the Qur’an, Miracles of The Qur’an and so more. The life of adnan okter may be an example of boldness for true seeking youth to achieve the target. To prove the oneness of almighty Allah, he spends much of his time by writing, speaking and making dialogue between people.
